First Try At Blogging

So here I go, this is my first try at blogging and hope to be consistent with it. As my blog name states this is Mimi's Crafty Creations.
I am going to be a grandma (Mimi) thanks to one of my wonderful daughters later this year, and that is where the Mimi comes in. My girls called my mom Mimi when they were younger, and it was decided by them that is what I will be called as well.
This is the onesie my daughter had made to tell me she is expecting.

OK, so now about what I will be doing with my blog.

I love to craft, and have loved making scrapbooks for many years, at one time I was a Creative Memories consultant and really enjoyed that. Unfortunately all my items are gone and I have not picked up the idea again until recently. Something about a new baby in the family makes me want to get back involved now, so that I can start and keep up. The fact that my daughter and son in law are a Coast Guard family means that I will not be there to see he/she grow up and get to do the Mimi things like weekend sleepovers, babysitting and such. So I will rely on my daughter to keep me updated with photo's and work it out that way.
I have a Silhouette Portrait (Porter) machine and have had it for three weeks now, so far so good. Personally having a borderline addictive personality means one thing, start something new that I enjoy and invest a lot of time and money into it.
I am finding new things to create with Porter daily and having a lot of fun with it. I have made several gifts for others so far, my SIL is a Baton Twirling coach and the team had State competition the first week I had Porter. This is what I made:
This was a gift box that I filled with candy for each of the girls on the team (25)
Front says "I coach the Flashettes, What's your superpower?"
The F is for Flashettes and of course the crossed Batons!

Mothers Day was just a couple weeks ago and I had fun making cards as well
This one for my wonderful Mother In Law
And this one for my daughter, this was her first Mother's Day and I was so happy to be able to make something to make her day special.

Last big project I have done so far is a tag for my truck. I am a big NASCAR fan and Jimmie Johnson is my favorite driver. I am a member of a group on Facebook called Double J Gang and this tag is our logo:
Besides all the fun I am having with my little Porter, I am also being creative, and making cards for our troops overseas. I have signed up with Operation Write Home to make the cards and send them in so that our troops serving our country can have cards to send home to their families to check in, even if just a quick I Love You, I Miss You or even Hello.

I want to learn new ways to use my little guy and any amount of help with work. I plan to write reviews of different items that I use in my creations, and any type of donations for me to use and review will be very helpful.

Thank you for reading, have a great day!!!
